Why would you wire it like that and not follow the manual?

FrankFuss wrote:Personally I would run both BEC/ESC power cables to the Spirit AUX1 and AUX2 because Spirit is powering all the servos. The REX7 receiver is powered by the cable from Spirit to E2.
I'll swap it over before take-off, most important for me was just to give power on the bench :D

Thanks for your help.

There isn't a single manual for the combination. Jeti don't show any wiring diagram in their manual. Lots of other reasons, too, but won't go into them.

Which combination (I am lost)?

The diagram you started with, the one from the Spirit manual, is perfectly ok for the REX7, no?

The Spirit diagram doesn't represent the special cable accurately, it's three cables, not two into one. My supplier for REX7 and Spirit Pro suggested that combination, it works, so why change it?

The history briefly........ the helicopter is an Align 550E V2 (doesn't use Spirit), Spirit can be fitted to any heli, Jeti DC-14 is my new transmitter and can be used with many RC models. To bind to the model a compatible Rx. is needed (hence buying the Jeti REX7). Jeti wiring is described in their manual for Jeti items, not Spirit. The Jeti screens are different for the REX7 and REX9. The Spirit.bin file is a different one than that downloaded with latest version of the Jeti Firmware and needed to be changed in two places in the Jeti Root Directory.

The pdf diagram shows how my particular combination of parts is connected on that date. The battery supply is the system as the heli was purchased (second hand after five flights) I didn't want the installed gyro and didn't want to buy a new ESC. Maybe the whole thing will change in future, who knows? That's the fun of the hobby, yes?

In the Spirit diagram you can find special cable with two ends representing two connectors.
Special cable has one servo connector at the side of receiver and two servo connectors at the side of unit. To make it clear you can check our guide for JETI Integration where you can see a photo of real connection.

That's my point exactly, nothing is in one place. I've no idea where your real photo is and a search for 'JETI Integration' only comes back to your own thread

Nice big picture Wolfgang............ shame that it's of the REX9 and my receiver is the REX7. The pins are different (only on one end) and the menu screens are different in the DC-14 when bound to it, hence, me showing the path. That's why I "borrowed" the picture of the REX7 from the Jeti site to show the difference in my pdf.

Nothing happened when I used the 'EXT' terminal on my REX7, I needed to use E1 or E2 to detect the Spirit.

Just one more addition to demonstrate the point. Note the difference between the Spirit Pro and the Spirit...... pins are in different locations.

What is the real difference?

The Pro has the channels CH0 ... CH4 instead of CH1 ... CH4 (one additional swash servo) and AUX1, AUX2 instead of AUX (one additional aux port).
Ok ... the order of CHn is swapped to.

But when you look at the labels for the important ports there is no real difference. The Jeti cable has to be connected to the RUD (brown and red) and ELE/PIT/AIL (orange) port. The servos have to be connected to CH1 ... CH4 as stated in the manual, except that you can connect 4 swash servos to the Pro for 90°/4-Servo swash plates.
