Are you testing same axis?
Bearings can do lot of things in various conditions (for example temperature differences). After some tests it can be hot.
Strong drifting during bailout

Hi,
so fare I couldn't find a defect bearing - they are running smooth (I use ceramic precision bearings)
Vibs are O.K (20-30) as long as I don't have any blade grips on the spindle.
As soon as I mount them onto the head spindle vibs shoot up to 90+
I have weighted both blade grips with bearings inside and both have the same weight.
I thing the problem seems that I cannot 100% center the spindle with the blade grips on (obviously due to the dampers) - I have even replaced the dampers and blade grips without any success.I will order new bearings - maybe they only cause the vibs under the additonal load of the bladegrips (with bearings inside).
I've done a testflight with extended signal processing - some drifting was there but a lot better.What also didn't work was trying to make corrections during bail out - the heli hardly reacts on stick inputs (nearly nothing) althogh I've set highest stick priority. With BD3SX I was even able to change from inverted to normal if I wanted to. Is this also not possible due to the vibs?

These vibs make me cracy - one moment excessive vibes - suddenly also high vibes from the tail. then taking off the head again - pushing and pulling on the blade grips to try to center the spindle. Reassembling the head again and hardly any vibs at all?

Good. As I said there can be more strange things with Protos and vibrations.
For example you can get extreme aileron wobble during spoolup just because Main hub has small play on the main shaft.
For bailout it is the worst case, that vibrations are not constant and they are changing during flight depending on what you are doing.
This can induce inprecision because it can't sense helicopter movement correctly. For normal flight it is OK all the time.

Yes protos and it's vibs - permanently changing vib levels:(
I'm afraid I'll have unfortunately to live with that bad manner.
But in normal flight it feels so good with spirit-I feel so connected to it.
Should I keep extended signal processing?
Is the hardly reaction to stick movements also caused by the vibes or are reactions to
stick movements with spirit generally very low during bailout? Because on the work bench it works perfectly.

Vibrations does not affect flight characteristics, stick reactions are only dependend on the settings.
I am sure you can sort out vibrations pretty well, I have Protos too, but it can be tricky sometimes.
It should be all below value of 50.

during normal flight the flight characteristic of spirit is already perfect for me - I have set it very direct!
the heli reacts very fast and direct to stick inputs how I like it- for me it's already perfect tuned.

During bailout it should work always perfect, so there shouldn't be needed any correction from pilot.
Whats more, if huge corrections are possible it can cause even more damage, because sometimes pilots are still holding sticks in wrong position after bailout is activated.
So it should be possible to steer the helicopter only to relatively small extent.
Real solution is to fix the issue, why bailout can't work correctly, then any correction wouldn't be necessary.

I think the pilot himself should be able to decide wheter he wants stick priority or not during bailout and the stabi tab also pretends to to offer this (stick priority 0-10). If the pilot tends to do unwanted stick movements during bail out he could choose a value of 0. But I don't understand otherwise the possibility to select from 0-10 when this is not wanted and on 10 you hardly can do any corrections. Corrections on 10 are that low that you even can't compensate drifting. Heli still drifts the same direction just a little bit slower.

You should be able to tilt helicopter to 45° angle with value 10.
With my Protos it works very well so I can do tic tocs or pirouette manouvers for whole flight and bailout always is very precise. Same with MiniProtos and other helicopters.
I recommend to use Momentary switch so you can activate bailout only for few milisecond which is mostly enough to rescue the helicopter. After this, you regain full control.
