Geolink Compass calibration north equals 90 degrees??

You can calibrate GeoLink preferably with the model. It can be done usually anywhere and resulting angle deviation is very very small. Only in case when there is a nearby magnet/servo/motor (within around 10cm range) then there is big problem for calibration and operation.

@ZeXx86, I must ask why you guys decided to mount the compass in a way that it does not face north when mounted to the heli frame? To my knowledge you are the only people who do this.

Likewise! I got a used GeoLink from a mate and calibrated it that the reading was "0" when the heli was facing north. Usually, on every compass rose, the number linked to north is zero, no? Only after reading the manual I realized that the readout should be 90. Confused me no end. Maybe that could be changed in a future update?

Well, what am I doing wrong?

For the first time, I took the testbed heli with the Geolink outside. The unit is mounted in front of the heli with the cable outlet facing the rear. I changed the settings accordingly to "180".

I re-calibrated the Geolink once more, and plugged the battery out / in after I got a steadily blinking blue LED.

According to the WiFi-Link page, the Geolink got GPS Data from 10ish satellites.

BUT: I can´t get the compass heading to show 90°. I tried with altering to compass correction - but this is only possible from -45 to +45 degrees, right? I attach some pictures to show what I mean.

Any hints what I am doing wrong here? Thanks and best regards - Paco

Nevertheless it would be nice if you can confirm the correct reading of the Geolink's compass.

Unfortunately comparison is not made correctly between both. It seems GeoLink has to be turned around by 180°. When you turn it correctly, it will display 90°. No need to set any correction angle in that case since error look to be very small.
