Did you see this video? They say it’s possible that you have to do an update.

I updated WiFi-Link right at the beginning. I have 3.5 versions both in WiFi-Link and in Spirit.
And I can connect to the WiFi-Link - this works with no problem. And I can go to http://192.168.1.4 and see WiFi pages and proper version number (3.5.0).

But it does not connect to Spirit Unit. This is what the guy in video is doing at 4:42. If I click "Enter the Spirit Settings", it says "connection problem" and that's it.

And Android app also connects to WiFi (I am connected to Spirit network) and it does connect, then it tries to read settings from Spirit unit, and tells "Spirit Unit not found".

So the WiFi part works, but somehow WiFi-Link can't talk to Spirit.

I will try to update Wifi-Link one more time, maybe something went wrong. But I start to fear that maybe my WiFi-Link is too old and maybe something was changed in between. I have it for ~6 years now.

No, it doesn't want to work no matter what.
This is what I get: https://youtube.com/shorts/S3YBF0R2qOE

I tried
- updating WiFi-Link again
- I removed all "special functions" in my Spirit Unit, and looked for any suspicious settings which might confuse Wifi-Link
- Also tried with enabled and disabled banks in Spirit (maybe there's some bug there)

But no matter what I try, WiFi-Link doesn't see the unit, although it is connected now as per manual. Powered from same BEC that the unit.

And if I connect the PC to the same SYS port, everything works smoothly with normal Spirit app.
Lost hope..

Hi,
I think you have to buy a new wifi-Link, mabe it is defective - I couldn't explain it any other way now.

Do you have the possibility to borrow a wifi link from a colleague to test ?

If not I think if you had this for 6 years you should buy the new one, this has additional features in future like Tomas said in an earlier post (I think it was blue tooth too) -

I think I will ask Thomas. I don't want to buy a WiFi-Link which will have same problem. As I see on the webpage, it looks same like mine and has same functionality. But maybe something was changed in between in internals, or mine has some problem.

Sorry, I think I have some mixed up -
what I meant was the Spirit-Link-Module but this is at the moment only substitute for the bluetooth-Module, in near future it will be also substitue for the wifi-link Module -
That's what I didn't know exactly anymore... :(

Hello,

your Wifi-Link is probably very old, am I right?
If it is older than your Spirit unit then it will not work. It require hardware update.
Old modules were green and are maybe produced 5 years ago. They will work only with older Spirit units.

Thx for info. Yes it's green and 5-6 years old. And I verified it works with Spirit Pro which I have in one of my helis. So I need a new WiFi-Link.

The cabling I made works BTW.

With OTG cable I mean this.
This is how Scorpion V-Link works - you can use same cable both with PC and smartphone.
I tried it today and it doesn't work. I think Android app just doesn't support cable connection at all.
Could this possibly be added?

This would be super cool, we could just configure Spirit in the field with smartphone and standard Spirit cable.
