Hello,
I have read an interesting aspect of the SPM9747 and yes I must say that's asolutely right -
The SPM9747 has no external antennas that could look over the carbon frame - That means this satellite can easyly shadowed up !! I think a second 4651T is the way to go for a good installation !
The other aspect can be to take the simple dsmx2 satellites like an SPM9745 and get it work for additional back up reception - this must be implemented in the firmware in my opinion, because another FBL manufacturer has it implemented too - I think this is also a way to go -
Best Regards
Matthias

I understand what you are saying and I am very grateful for your support, but I feel the 9747 is perfect for my needs for several reasons;
-my 4651T is mounted at the rear of the frame, so a nose-mounted 9747 serves to only minimise any shadow the 4651 sees.
-long antennas mounted on the front of the airframe would interfere with the battery cables and/or canopy and would likely get damaged from connecting the battery, removing canopy etc.
-many people have commented how well the 9747 performs.
Regarding older DSMX satellites, they can't be mixed with the 4651T.
I've also spent good money on the 4651T / 9747 so don't want to spend more on other receivers, when these should work. Also, I want to have full telemetry, which the older DSMX sats won't allow.

Hello,
don't misunderstand me, I don't say that the SPM9747 is not possible, but it has the problem that it can be easier shadowed, for example if you are flying from the right to the left an then make an hard right turn the satellite will be shadowed for a short time and the other receiver wilth antennas 4651T must overtake that shall be only an hint - besides that the SPM9747 has only short range telemetry -
The problem at the moment is that the other satellite can't take over (sat1 or sat2 port) -
With the control of the dsmx2 satellites, I have shown that there can be no hardware problem because everything works fine there - so this is just a "problem" with regard to the firmware and that can be programmed accordingly - which satellites (SRXL2) then one used is then private pleasure -
As an example, MSH (Brain2) uses a 4651T together with one to two DSMX2 satellites, that works too -
Another note on the transmitter protocol, this is still DSMX as before, this is the higher-level protocol, if I understood correctly, because a new transmitter module was not necessary - SRXL2 is an integrated bidirectional protocol with telemetry within DSMX -
That's why there won't be any restrictions there, see MSH ...
I am really sure that Tomas and his team will do a good solution for this incident !
Best Regards
Matthias

Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas time
Wondering if you've made any progress with further testing Tomas?
Many thanks, Mike

Thank you very much!
I believe that until end of the week we will find solution. We are still testing with all the units, receivers and radios.

Hello,
we found the issue.
With some setups satellites will come alive later. This will cause that they are not initialized properly and communication is disabled there.
Now all will work. We can make access to this firmware for anyone interested.

The problem was resolved and now one can control the model with satellite at any slot at any moment.
So it is not needed to initialize only with SRXL2 satellite at the AIL pin.
So the problem can be resolved by flashing new Spirit firmware.

Hello Tomas,
that sounds great ! I am very happy that you had found the problem - well done !
Will the update be available in the spirit settings in future ?
I think the system will get better and better together with the customers!
Thanks a lot for your incredible service !
I wish you all a happy new year!
Many greetings
Matthias

I'm happy to bench test the firmware with a Spirit II.
