Does Fail Safe work with Futaba Fasst?
More than just setting the throttle to zero?

Yes, you can configure it in the transmitter.

Adrian wrote:@Yogi, have you looked at Fail safe on Channel setting? If you have got the option, think of the following:
Configure like Bank3 with Stabi Rescue normal, Rescue Pitch 0%
Now learn Fail safe: with Bank 3 selected and negative Gain for Rescue and Throttle in Bailout range 12%.

On Signal Lost, Model should go horizontal, with slow descent to keep head turning and ESC armed in Bailout.
On Signal recovery, rpm Ramp-up will be fast to get back in Air. If no Signal recovery, Model should land on skids with limited power on head eq reduced damage.
I gonna test this on a nice day, having to much fun on field, by switching off TX, let me know if you test it before
Well, personally I am not sure this will work like that, I assume it depends on the failsafe you have defined in the receiver: the receiver failsafe will be activated if you turn off the radio... not the Spirit one, isn't it?

The Spirit failsafe is for the case, as an example, that the wire between the receiver and the Spirit fails, as far as I understood...

Maybe I am wrong?

Unfortunately with Futaba S-Bus it is not possible to define the Fail safe parameters in the Spirit settings.

Futaba transmitters can set failsafe values directly in the menu called Failsafe.

You are right, but in my case I can only set a failsafe parameter on the throttle with the T7C transmitter [emoji17]

Manual P28: Failsafe
For a PPM, Spektrum DSM2/X, Jeti EX Bus, SRXL/SUMD receiver types you can set the Failsafe directly in the unit. Channel values are stored immediately after clicking the Set failsafe button. In case that the signal is lost for more than 1 second it will set the values automatically in the flight. With other receiver types the Failsafe is programmed in the transmitter or receiver.

I did test with Spektrum running with 2 Satellites, if I unplug 1 Sat, system keeps working, if I unplug both, it jumps after 1 second to stored Failsafe Setting. Plug Sat back, jumps to Sender Signal. If I turn OFF Sender, it jumps after 1 second to stored Failsafe, Power up TX, back to Sender Signal.
It works as expected. Version 2.0 is really a huge step forward. I'm looking forward to demonstrate it to my colleges, It's like Blade stop just an other bet, by switching TX off during a looping, to demonstrate Spirit capabilities

In the last two days I have tested the autorotation bailout - it works perfectly. But one thing I have observed - on the first spoolup the RPM overshoots by 100 to 200. It's not a critical issue, but can it be fixed ?
Here is a screenshot of the governor settings.

Here a screenshot of the spoolup in the log of the CC. The red line is the RPM and the black line is the throttle.
Indicated by the marker, the throttle is reduced upon reaching the requested head speed of 2000 RPM. But then the headspeed goes up to 2200.
Is this caused by the ESC or is it possible to flatten the spoolup from the spirit in the last 10 %. In the shown case the throttle is increased up to the configured maximum of 1950us.

Is it possible, that only my initial spoolup rate in the CC is too low? I will try.
