Yes, V3 is OK. I had 50v3 on Chase 360, RPM reading was OK. After change to 60v4 RPM reading is reported as noisy (I've tried ferrite rings, split RPM wire and trying different routing, nothing help). But V4 series has problem also on other FBL systems: http://helifreak.com/showpost.php?p=6982803&postcount=4

Should I send you oscilliscope screenshot of 60v4 RPM output?

@Tomas and TomasN, its reported on HF to be an Open Collector Impedance issue with HW 60A V4
maybe some one with HW 60A V4 can confirm with Oscilloscope and test suggested NPN Transistor fix on top?

@TomasN, have you got HV Servo setup? Have you tested with different BEC Voltages, just an idea for trouble shooting, not the final solution I know.

@Mattbeau, as your current issue is not related direct to HW V4 60A ESC, I suggest to open different topic.
And yes, just give it a try with Y Cable, as you did for the Capacitor. Any Port providing Power can be used. But never ever use (ELE/PIT/AIL or SYS) Port. See Manual Page 10-20.

I could organize a HW 120A V4 to test myself, but is the problem known with 120A V4 as well or only isolated to 60A V4 Version? Someone knows?

Yes I have HV setup (@ 7.4V). I'll try lower voltage

Tomas, HW is testing new firmware also for the rpm sensor. Maybe its wise to wait for it? (also they are adressing the tail kick, finally!)

Theres an update to finally solve the tailkick and improved rpm data:

Did you try it? Is noise problem solved?

I did not try it. After reading an explanation by Tom from Jlog why you should not use external govs i have decited to never fly them again. Im just supplying the news.

Im using the hw v4 internal gov with my spirit and it works just fine :)
