Spirit System

Alright, more updates, and now I'm completely baffled.

So after finishing the setup on the Tarot using the USB cable and Spirit software, I went into the Spirit script one more time, just for fun, and sure enough, it was working once more.

I then changed to the Goblin 380 model, and and that one doesn't work at all. I made a couple of minor changes using the PC software, plugged the S.Port cable back in, and still nothing. The integration hardware stuff is working, because I have all the telemetry working, but the Spirit script can't pull up any data, all the options remain grayed out.

One thing I should note is that every time I try to run the script, about 2-3 seconds after entering the script, I get a "Sensor lost" message. I don't know what sensor it's referring to, but that's the message, and it happens every single time I start the script.

i think the integration needs some bugfixes.
i cant get it working with Spirit 2 and Archer RS with ethos.
under opentx with same helicopter everything is working well.

EthOS might need F.Port with some receivers.
Brain integration is working only with F.Port.
We are at vacations now, so we cant check anything.

will the spirit 2 support fport in the future?

Working great for me. I just tried version 2. It has a couple quirk with the changes from version 1.

1. The save dialog box doesn't close after saving and you have to back out of it.

2. The close dialog box doesn't close when you click the button although the script does and the FBL light is steady.

I'm running Spirit GT firmware 3.4.3, Ethos 1.4.2, Archer RS F.port on v2.1.9, Frsky X18S

Works great and I'm amazed at how fast it is. I had integration setup on my Taranis 2019 with Spirit 2 and honestly found it slightly awkward. This is great! Thanks!

But with F-Port it is not possible to use external sensors like the Unisense, so we need support for F-Bus.

Summary: spirit firmware with fport support expected soon for most spirit units and not just the gt. frsky isn't interested in supporting sbus+s.port to the degree required on ethos, so looks like converting over to fport, if we haven't already, is the way it's going to go.

I'm hoping the existing s.port inversion cable works for f.port on the spirit II personally - other than that I'm good to go.

Yes, Spirit 2, Spirit Pro, microSpirit should all work with our FrSky integration cable and F.Port.
