zero in diagnostic page with taranis

Hi i have just got a taranis x9d plus and when setting up my spirit the manual states not to use subtrim on ail ele and rud chanels but i cant get zero without using subtrim and if i do use subtrim the zero is not bold does this mean anything? However the taranis does have a ppm center value which is set to 1500 i can adjust to 1558 and that also gives me zero but again the zero is not bold. So what is the method to achieve reaching zero any help would be appreciated thanks
