Today I had the need to use Real Time Tuning for the Cyclic Feed Forward with my DX8 G1.

I had used RTT in the past but not much.

Well, very easy explained... I set it up on a three-position switch, and with end points at 100% and 100%, I saw values where 1 - 7 - 12.

I wanted to try to tune with 1-2-3... but I could not find a way to make it happen.

The lower end point was fine, 1, but changing the upper end point... even going to 0%... the only thing I could obtain was 1-7-7 for the three positions. No way to change the middle position from 7 to 2, actually to anything else. I tried all possibilities.

What is the proper way to make this work, when you have higher ranges of values (1 to 12), but you only want to work on a limited range of three values?

You can try to use Travel Adjust or Dual Rate (if available).
Then move the channel from center using Channel Subtrim.
This could make it possible to achieve only specified range.

Well, Travek Adjust is what I used.
Did not try moving the center though.
I will try now and let you know.

Just tried, by going lower 100%, higher 10% and Subtrim -125% (the max) I get no better than 1-3-4 which is not exactly what I wanted.

No way to make it work easier?

I mean, the idea is brilliant... let's make it perfect!

EDIT: what about a setting for the min and max values you want that parameter to change between? I bet that like that, the end points /travel adjust changes will not even be needed most of the times...

Something like I set not only
  • Function: Cyclic Feed Forward
    Channel: Channel 8
but also
  • Min value: 1
    Max value: 3

Thanks to blade_crasher for pointing me to a perfect solution (on Helifreak): the TX Gov feature, which acts very similar to how Gyro Gain can be set and attached to Flight Modes, so you can define the exact value for each of the three switch positions. Bingo!

Indeed, you can assign any parameter and change it anytime you wish. It depends only on programming capability of your transmitter.

With Spektrum Governor menu can be used to define this. Alternatively mixes can work too.
