Spirit System

Hi.

My protos went down after I lost all power during tic-toc.(Just blades, boom, shafts was broken)
This was the 6th flight of the day, first "hard" one.
Look like I just lost the power to the esc if you see at the CC log.
I can't remember hearing any pips from the motor after the crash, but I unplugged it quite fast due to binding of the servos.
I have backup guard, so the spirit and servos had power al the time.
I put power on the system on the bench just to check the esc after the crash, all is fine.
But maybe I that way the log from spirit is a little strange ?
Please note that the antenna was ripped out of the receiver during the crash.
The helicopter has been crashed many times, so electronic have had a hard life.
Last crash I cut the boom clean of during rescue(my fault, way to much rescue pitch, 800 blades, and worn dampers)
Had to clue half of the magnet in the motor, they were loose...

Protos 800.
xnova 4530
CC ICE 2 160A
Hobbywing BEC
Optipower back up guard
Spirit (red)
Futaba servo.
Frsky x4r receiver.

that is very sad news.

I have checked Spirit log and I have found that for sure something was very wrong from the beginning.

From 20th,30th second it started to loose signal which should not occur at any point during flight. Did you started the motor at that time? If yes, then I would guess that there were a static discharges all the time.

During the flight you can see many Governor was Engaged message. Normally there should be just one if you were flying normally.
If not, then it mean that the Throttle signal was also pretty unstable which is common for noise caused by static discharges or any kind of frequent disturbances. It was not caused by a BEC. So the throttle curve was changing all the time as well.
I think that the ESC shutted down since it was unable to handle the noise.

This was after a rebuild with a new boom.
I newer check if the boom was grounded after rebuild.
I know that the end of the boom sometimes need a little sanding to get contact with tail case.

I will rebuild the helicopter and check the log after a bench test.

Hi

Just a update.

After installing a new boom, I measured the resistance. Infinity ohm reading. Grined the boom clamp. Now the reading is 0ohm from tail to motor bolts. [emoji16]

12 flight later, everything is perfect [emoji16]

No warning in the log.
