Myself and others are looking for more information about this. I looked back at the posted WIFI manual on this site and can't find any mention of Auto Turn off. Is this something we have to enable or it is just built in?

I have been flying with the Wifi module connected on the heli but not connected to the App. Is this safe or do i need to enable the auto-turn off. Nothing bad has happened but I just wanted to check.

at the first page of Web interface in your Wifi-Link you can find Auto-Turn Off feature.
It can be enabled and configured, by default it is disabled.
