Spirit System

Hi, I'm trying to get the telemetry working for the above unit, I've just noticed the 100a ESC isn't listed under the supported units in the manual. Is this correct? Is it not supported?
I have connected the uni cable to the primary sat port on the spirit pro, enabled telemetry in the software and followed the instructions for enabling telemetry on my dx7 and I'm getting nothing. Do I also need the spectrum telemetry reciever to get this to work? (As I have it working on my goblin 700 with hobbywing 130)
Fyi I have updated the ESC to the latest firmware.
