Hobbywing RPMs on OpenTx integration wrong

Hi,

I have just set up my Hobbywing Telemetry on my Spirit running on a Taranis Q X7. I have had the Spirit integration working for a couple of months so when I recently got a HW60 I thought that I would hook it up to my Spirit so that I can get RPM / ESC temp / Vibes from the HW60 to the QX7.

I bought the Telem cable and have it hooked up and working - except the RPM value appears to be wrong. Based upon my Headspeed Tachometer app, the TCs entered and the sound the values that I'm getting are about 2/3 of what I would expect.

I am on the latest HW software, 2.2.3 OpenTx and 2.6.1 for the Spirit firmware - is there something obvious that I am missing or need to tweak please???

Thanks,
Mike.

Make sure you have you gear ratio and pole count set correctly in the Spirit.

I should have said that I am using the HW Gov rather than the Spirit Gov - do I still need to put in the Pole count and Gear ratio ???

Thanks for the input,
Mike

Yes the ESC sends Motor RPM to the Spirit and it uses the Pole Count and Gear Ratio to calculate the Headspeed and send it to the Radio. Remember Pole Count (Spirit calls it Sensing Divider) is your number of motor poles divided by 2.

Also enable the Spirit Governor make the changes and then turn it off again.
You should then get your RPM in the Tx.

That's much better - thanks. It still doesn't quite agree with my Android app (reads slightly higher), but I'm guessing that this should be more accurate.

Does the value for Maximum Headspeed affect things??? I've tried changing that but it seems to make no difference....
