Hello,
I cannot figure out how to update the firmware via WiFi of the Spirit Black edition
I can connect my Android phone to the wifi device, no problem.
Then when I connect the Spirit android app, it connects and then says: "Firmware version does not match with the software version. Firmware 2.4.3 Software 2.6.X". And then the connection is terminated.

So I connected my PC to the wifi of the spirit, and used the "Spirit wifi link updater" tool to update the wifi link. This worked, but I still cannot use the android app, same message about the firmware version...
What am I doing wrong?

This mean that firmware version in the unit is outdated and you have to update the unit.

Since you can't perform update from Android app, you have to use computer.
Just start the Spirit Settings, download the latest firmware from the web page, open the Update tab, select firmware and press the Flash button.
And that is all

Yes, tried that, but the Spirit Settings (v2.6.1) says: "interface was not detected, do you want to switch to demo mode?"
My laptop wifi is connected to the spirit wifi, and when I open the browser to http://192.168.4.1/spirit/connection.html I can see the web page.
This web page also shows the version mismatch message (as expected)."2.4.3 - Version mismatch! Update the unit or Wifi-Link to the same version."

So why doesnt the Spirit Settings app see or detect the wifi connection?

because you have to set IP address of the Wifi-Link - so that Spirit Settings will know you have a Wifi-Link.

Ahh I missed that part about the key combination... Thanks, will try this when at home!

A suggestion: add a button to the spirit settings app to enter ip address, or some text on the main screen like "press ctrl-W for wifi connection".

Hi,

One question regarding this topic of updating the firmware and software version.

My heli is set up and Spirit system settings are all done.

Do I need to do anything regarding Spirit unit setup again after updating the firmware/software of the unit - or all the setup is preserved?

Hi,

this depends on what version you were using previously.
Usually everything or nearly everything is preserved. Things that are not preserved are mentioned in the Update Changelog.
