Spirit, altitude hold, safe way to adjust vertical gain

Hello,

I have Trex 450 fbl with Spirit unit and GeoLink. What I am looking for is the safest way of testing various vertical gain valies until I find the suitable one.

The reason to be so cautios is that I have already had the crash with obviously too high value (dont remember exacltly but it was somewhat above the default value).

Is it safe to start with lowest possible value (50), assuming that there wont be any effect, and then slightly increase the value until I find the one when heli is stable holding the altitude?

Hello,

the safest way is to try any value at high altitude. The same apply for any other parameter and feature.
This is the only possibility to avoid any crash if you are unable to turn the feature fast enough.

Anyway I recommend to set default value and then change it by 10 in any direction. It is always better to start from default as these are usually optimal for the most helicopters.

Hi,

I'm trying to find the default values for both vertical and horizontal gain, but since I have modified it, I can't find it anymore.
What were the default values for vertical and horizontal gain?

Thanks,
Denis

You can start the Spirit Settings in Demo mode to see all default values.
Defaults are Horizontal: 100 and Vertical: 80.
