I'm setting up another heli with a Spirit system, witch worked already fine in another helicopter.
When I want to use the internal governore, the motor doesn't start. If I check the governore only in bank 2, the motor will stop when I switch to bank 2.
A similar setup is used in other helis with a working Spirit governore:
- RX is a Spektrum AR9020 with attached TM1000 and a Unisens-E telemetry sensor
- ESC is a Hobbywing Premium 25A and is connected to AUX1 and the yellow wire is on PIT
An additional wire is soldered to the connector on PIT and feeds the signal further to the Unisens-E.
I have a reading for the revs in the telemetry display.
Did I mess up my Spirit device???
[Solved] Motor doesn't start with governore ON

I have done a factory reset of the unit and reprogramed it with the same data from a print out.
In governore mode the motor will still NOT start.

Hello,
it is possible that the motor will not start because Throttle range is not configured properly.
Actually after few seconds it could start. You can wait little bit to see what will happen. If motor will start then you can recalibrate ESC throttle range or change the range in the unit.
If you will make ESC Throttle calibration Governor in the Spirit unit must be turned off. Maybe previously it was done and for this reason calibration is not matching now.
Calibration must be done with Linear Throttle curve from 0 to 100%.

Thank you for the reply.
The 25A ESC worked well with its own governore, but refused to let the Spirit unit govern him
I tested a HW 40A version 4 and it let the Spirit unit take over and started as soft as it should.
Since the ESC was identified as the "bad guy" I flashed the firmware of the 25A Hobbywing with the current, up to date version.
This firmware was already on the ESC, but obviously corrupted
Now this ESC does also work fine again!
I'm very happy, that the Spirit unit is fine and as allways NOT guilty
