Spirit unit unresponsive after V3 to 2.8 downgrade

I tried to downgrade the firmware from V3 to V2.8 on one of my spirit pro units. It said the flash was successful. Upon powering the unit back on after the update, it is not responding to any transmitter inputs at all, and the servos are moving in strange ways on their own. One time I powered it on and one of the cyclic servos shot up and bound to the frame. In the diagnostic screen in the software the cyclic inputs are fluctuating on their own.
Something is very wrong with this unit now, I have no idea how to fix it.

I just flashed it back to v3 and it is working again. That was scary. Is there a proper way to downgrade? Did I do something wrong?

i had a pop saying i had to downgrade to 1.3.2 then back up to 2.8. luckily i saved my setup before i did anything, so it was mostly painless.

How did you get a hold of that old version?

Nevermind I got it. All appears to be working on 2.8 now. That was freaky. I had originally downgraded to 2.8 using the V3 software- so a heads up to anyone - DON'T do that unless you want to see your unit do some weird stuff, use the 2.8 software.

Interesting, in my case first try to flash firmware 2.8 using the 2.8 software failed (but I did not try again). Then I used the 3.0.1 software to flash 2.8 (since I currently was on 3.0.1) and the downgrade was successful. Then I did a full reconfiguration, just to be sure.

You can downgrade with 3.0 version back to 2.8 without any issue.
Everything should be same as before.
Or you can wait week or so. Then everything will be tested and any issues sorted.

I have no idea what happened then, but all seems to be working now.
