Spirit System

I'm a newbie to flybarless helis and stabilizing gyros.I'm just starting the heli assembly and gyro installation. Is it ok to mount the gyro in front of the mast. The spirit instructions appear to show it in the rear.There is a possible location behind the mast below the motor but the pictures of the heli show the gyro up front of the mast.
