Spirit System

Hi there,

My Mac is not recognising my spirit RS, I have the latest spirit settings software and have installed the usb driver too. The RS unit connects with windows fine but not through my Mac? Can you help?

Also how do I update the jeti receiver firmware within the RS unit?

Hi,

what OS version are you using? did you check if the interface is recognised? (you can check it i.e. by starting "Terminal" in your Mac and starting the following command (and post the result here): kextstat | grep silabs

nb: the Rex within RS unit is updated with Spirit firmware update processes... no extra work to be done!

I will try with the USB plugged in later. Is that normal though as a starting point?

yes, try with USB plugged in... check the result. from the result you posted it seems you are on macOS Big Sur? yufasa's video is a great guide through the installation.

did you check this page: https://www.silabs.com/community/interf ... r110x-SWJK and download the newest driver release for big sur already? i've not yet done myself... will try & report in the next days.

following the video Tomas put the link too has solved my problem. The driver listed in the spirit manual is too out of date I think.

@Tomas: i've downloaded & installed the new SiLabs vcp 6.0 for Big Sur... even it did work and the new generation driver loaded successfully: Spirit settings did not recognize the new driver ( which is now located within an application in applications folder and has a new name & extension...). did you already successfully test the new driver under Big Sur? (no problem for me in the moment... i am still running Catalina, Big Sur only in a VM to test it)
