T-REX 500 tail panning

Hi,

I have a very annoying problem with my T-Rex 500 pro DFC and Spirit II
Originally I flew with the original Align ESC in "non-governor" mode, meaning with a throttle curve. Sorry, I don't know the exact term in English.
This worked well so far, except from some speed drops.

I then bought a Hobbywing Platinum V4 80A ESC, which should allow me to fly in governor mode.

My current problem is that the tail is panning to the right while I am pitching, even with smooth pitch inputs. It usually wipes back to the original position, once I release the pitch.
I followed the tuning guide http://manual.spirit-system.com/index.p ... ning_Guide, but there was no improvement at all. The only thing that mitigated the issue at least a little was playing with the multiplier of the sensor gain until the tail became unstable.

- My tail servo is a Align DS535M
- I basically followed the wizard for my Align 500
- I use the latest firmware on my Spirit II
- I have experimented with the setting from the tuning guide
- My headspeed is around 1850 rpm
- My Spirit II settings are attached

My questions:
- Whenever I change a parameter in the Jeti setting for the Spirit II, will this be effective immediately without saving or disconnecting the battery?
- Is there anything else I could try to stabilize the tail while pitching?

Many thanks for your support in advance

Best regards,
Daniel

Hello,

the problem you have could be caused by too low Advanced/Pirouette Consistency value. I recommend to increase it to 165 at least, but you can try also 170.

Then you can decrease Rudder Delay to value 2-4. This will also help.

After these settings, please increase Gyro Gain as high as possible, until you will observe any oscillations in fast forward flight or more demanding maneuvers.

Did this work for you? I have the 500x with the same issue.

It's currently a 're-kit', so I can't try this fix...

Sorry guys for not replying earlier. I did not fly the last two, three weeks.

Basically I had to increase the head speed from 1850rpm to around 2250rpm. Apparently the T-REX does not like a too decent headspeed.
In addition to ZeXx86 recommendation I was playing with the Revo Mix, even though when not really recommended.

My tail is now pretty stable - not 100% - but for me it is "good enough" as I do not perform hard flying maneuvers.

Cheers,
Daniel

Are you able to post your final settings, please?

Here you are....
It's just my idle1 profile. I do not really fly 3D.
