Today I really would recommend not to order with fast delivery: My GT was taken over by FedEx on Wedensday Morning. Was sent to Poland, France, several Airports in Germany and yesterday was in the Morning in Wörgl in Austria. Guess what? Was the whole day in the Depot. Spoke with FedEx Austria in Vienna yesterday and no idea.

It is very normal package is going through several countries. Yet normally it is still delivered in time.
But due to issues in Germany and Austria after very bad weather conditions many flights were canceled.
Sometime it is not possible to be master of weather. Additionally covid is not making it easier.
In other countries there should be not a delays.

Next time with Post EMS again .
Because the story begins already: I guarantee on Monday or maybe Tuesday the parcel will be dropped somewhere in our neighborhood.

yes it is no different in the CH, the GT travels all over Europe, is the same with DHL, what works best and fastest is UPS ......
here the course, it should be delivered to CH, so Zurich or Basel airport would be the best option

So parcel arrived during the day (I was working).
Instead of a notification and storage in the local FedEx parcel center the status suddenly was "delivered".
I phoned FedEx and guess what: I was handed to person I don't know w/o address.
So FedEx could not provide a signature from me...I was curious and started to Google.
For Gods sake I found a company in our village with a "match" because the name was "rare".
I phoned them and they confirmed they recieved a parcel with my name.
I picked it up in the evening and finally holding my GT in hands.
I gave the lady of the company 10% "finders reward" as they where nice on the phone.
What an adventure. I add the screenshot as proof.

Unfortunately during covid there are times when it does not work as it should.
We have years of experience with UPS, DHL, DPD.
It is highly dependent on country, time and weather.
We closed contract with UPS because many problems during delivery. Even in time there was no covid.

We were shipping with UPS, DHL, DPD daily for many years, each day.
So we have enough data for comparison. In the most cases UPS, DHL, FedEx are working with very comparable speed.
In Europe with normal circumstances it should be always 1 day and usually is even today.
Yet to some countries UPS took much longer and it was normal - for example Australia/NZ. From years of shipping we can be certain, FedEx is slightly faster than UPS to countries we are shipping at. Because plane transportation is done even during weekends, which is not the case for others.
During these days any comparison is not worth, because with all of them we encountered issues. And we can do nothing about it. They can't affect pandemic situation. Possibly in the future we can allow selection between express carriers.
