Hi folks,

another urgent Spirit GT problem: Failsafe is not working (again) on my DS12 / Rex EX Bus.

My problem: Motor is 0% at Spirit GT initializing. If I test failsafe and switch of DS12 all servos and motor stay at there position (motor at flight RPM!!).

All components are latest firmware.

I tried different start values at initializing but always the same.

The failsafe of DS12 and Kontronik is "overruled" by Spirit (was always so).

Sorry but as long as motor OFF is not working I can not use Spirit (to high risk to people because heli flies w/o control!!).

Can somebody help me what I am doing wrong?

Thx

Hi,

could you explain the EXACT configuration you are using: which Jeti receiver and exact config of the receiver? especially: 1. type & firmware version and failsafe setup of the receiver? 2. when & how did you set failsafe for Spirit GT?
cheers

Hi Folks,

sorry I solved the problem (stupid me): ALL failsafe settings (Jeti, Kontronik) are ignored in case of a fail safe situation. You have to enter the servo setting menu, set all Servos to the desired position and click on "Set fail safe".

I was confused, because I read that Spirit "learns" fail safe of motor at "calibration". That seems not to be the case.

It is a great menu > if you like you can also set "self stabilisation" and "Autorototion" and "engine stop" :-).

Works flawless now.

Can I just ask if you have your esc going through the Spirit or directly to the Receiver? Your reply suggests the latter??
The Set Failsafe button in Spirit setup page/General/Channels will drive all the shown Channels to that position when the unit senses something wrong (Sorry if that's obvious). Your having to do it in the Receiver menu suggests something is amiss??

Hello,

as I am using a Jeti with REX Duplex Ex reciever I connected the ESC (Kontronik Kolibri) on the Spirit (pass through).

Have you set a channel against the THR in settings? Not sure if still the case but years ago the failsafe would ignore the Thr channel during failsafe. ;) The Failsafe in the Rx is deffo disabled when you try and use the Spirit one? And the Thr channel is showing fully closed when you press the Set button? Again, sorry if obvious!!

Hello,

yes I did the "stress test" took the blades off and switched the transmitter off :-).

Heli switched to Rescue mode and switched motor off to " flair down" .

Also reactivating works (if you are fast).

So you're saying it now works as it should??
