RPM Signal from CDI?

I would like to use a Spirit RS with a Gasser with an RCEXL CDI Ignition.
Can I get the RPM signal for the governor directly from the ignition? Either with a Y-cable from the Hall-sensor or from the tachometer outpout signal from the CDI? Or do I need an extra sensor?

OK, since there was no answer, I tried it myself. A Y-cable from the Hall-sensor of the ignition to the Spirit-RS worked in principle, but the signal was way to noisy.

So now I use the Hall-sensor from the Jeti MRPM Hall EX (just the (replacement) sensor, not the whole MRPM EX module) with 2 magnets mounted on the cooling fan. This works fine.
