spirit gt for 500+ hei's?

Hi all,
Is there any reason i couldn't use the newer gt version on say a 450 or 250? I understand it has a different processor and more resolution but, I would like to try these features out on some of the smaller models that I have? am I better off getting the spirit 2 unit? I just thought, I'd like to try the new model out without having to replace units on my bigger helis. Any help would be great,

The only restriction that I know of is the size of the unit.

I use a PRO in a trex 450L and a GT in a Buddy 380
