Hi,
I want to get very fast pirouettes, pass the 2000° per second rate, if possible. So far I’ve maxed out the end points in the rudder channel of my 18SZ and got a maximum output value of 140 at full stick deflection. In the Spirit software, a maximum value of 118% is reached before the maximum stick deflection of the rudder stick, and the Spirit unit still gives more pirouetting rate pass this point although the Spirit Software value remains at 118%.
Is there a way to have the heli pirouette faster, as mechanics can?
As a reference, I had a BeastX FLB many years ago (I’m all Spirit now). The BeastX has a mode of operation where it deactivates the gyro and let the heli pirouette as fast as mechanics can, after a given amount of end point is given. It worked quite nice and pirouettes rate was impressive.
Thanks,
David
Very Fast Pirouettes
You have to set Rotation Rate speed to the higest value. If you will set Gyro Gain to 0-1% it should do the same as with BeastX.
Also increased Rudder Dynamic should help.

Lowering the gyro gain leaves the heli without any gyro stabilization in all axes because the tail gain cannot be lowered individually.ZeXx86 wrote:You have to set Rotation Rate speed to the higest value. If you will set Gyro Gain to 0-1% it should do the same as with BeastX.

Wouldn’t that be a dangerous state, pirouetting the heli that fast without any gyro function in the cyclic’s?
Will the governor be affected?
Hello,
Gyro Gain affect only Tail. Swashplate is stabilized all the time.

I thought the sensor tab sensitivity rotary dials adjust the gyro sensitivity for aileron, elevator and rudder axes.
Would you please expand?
Is the stabi functions affected by the sensitivity adjustments?
Thanks.
Hi,
Tested pirouetting speed with gain at 0% and 1%.
No change noticed at maximum pirouetting speed.
End points (118% shown in diagnostics), rotation rate and mechanical throw at maximum.
It would be great a feature that could be assigned that pass through the maximum tail mechanical throw.
