Converting Spirit GTR to Spirit GT

It appears that a Spirit GTR is just a Spirit GT with a Jeti radio piggybacking the main board. The main board even has "Spirit GT" silkscreened on the back side of it. Can it then be converted to a Spirit GT by removing the radio module and flashing Spirit GT firmware on it?

Hello,
that will never work ! I don't believe that Spirit will change anything that you will be able to get another receiver on an GTR -
Spirit will not offer a DIY solution, the FBLs must meet the relevant standards and with a DIY solution Spirit will lose its FCC or LBT approval, you can really forget about that! This is also about product liability, no manufacturer can afford that -
I don't know how anyone could come up with such an idea -
Sell your GTR and then buy a Spirit GT, this is the only legal way -
Regards

I knew it that you didn't want to hear that...and of course my answers are mostly useful...sorry
If someone from spirit answers you seriously, then at most it will not work or your question will be simple ignored -

It will really not work. You can't decide which firmware is flashed. The unit has burned actual type from the beginning. Unfortunately even if it would work we can't guarantee it will work properly as cutting the pins is damaging the PCB to some extent.
If you would sell it to someone later they will wonder how we could produce something like this. So unfortunnately this is not good idea.
