Hi,

is it possible to extend the timeout for the firmware update via WiFi so that the Spirit GT, in particular, does not abort every time? This is always annoying for me because I have to partially disassemble my helicopter to be able to connect the USB cable for the recovery.

My older Spirits can usually be updated via WiFi without any problems, but the Spirit GT always aborts.

Alexander

Hi,

with an extension, I would have one more contact point when operating the WiFi link, which I always have connected. I also want to keep the cables out of sight as much as possible.
If a solution could be found by extending the timeout period for an update, that would be my preferred solution.

Alexander

Hello,

can you let me know if the issue persist with Wifi-Link and the recent Spirit Settings?

The issue could happen, because Spirit GT firmware is much bigger and chance for a connection instability is bigger in that case. Timeout is few seconds at the moment. Please note you can use Wifi-Link also for the Recovery mode.

Are you updating with direct connection to 192.168.4.1 or to your home network? This will be helpful to replicate the issue.

Hi,

yes, even with version 3.7.2 the problem still exists.

I have just updated all my Spirits with settings 3.7.2. I have tried different Macs in different locations.
I normally connect via 192.168.4.1, as I did today. After unsuccessful updates, I also initiated the recovery via WiFi and was unsuccessful many times until, with a lot of patience, it finally went through completely.
On the second GT I used my home network - no difference.
On the third GT again via 192.168.4.1 for a very long time without success until the recovery was successful. Mostly the recovery failed very early or after a short time.

Surprisingly, the updates via Wifi on the Spirit Pro, red and black Spirit, as well as the µSpirit were also unsuccessful with one exception, but the recovery via WiFi almost always worked the first time.

Hi,

Since I cannot currently use settings (Version 3.7.4) under macos via WiFi, I have temporarily switched to a virtual Windows on my Mac.

Surprisingly, the update via WiFi works much faster here than directly under macos. Under Windows, even the Spirit GTs can be updated via WiFi in well under 30 seconds and there is no timeout.

I can't update my GTs via settings on macos, the progress bar moves very slowly and they always time out in the end.

Is it possible to get the settings app under macos just as fast? If so, it wouldn't need any extend timeout.

Regards,
Alexander
