Hi there,

we have a problem updating a Geolink V1. It had Version 1.2.0. It is connected to a black spirit running the latest Firmware 3.7.1.
The update started and the progress bar showed up to be complete, but then stopped with a failure message, while the LED of the Geolink sh constantly flashing about 2 times a second.
Whatever we tried to fix this, the blinking continues, even after repowering the system.

How can we manage to fix that problem?

Regards,
Alexander

Hello,
at first I have no Geolink - but if you had trouble to install a new firmware I would try to do a recovery as by the Spirit FBL if its not working correctly anymore. I think you should try this out and then all will be fine again (I hope).
If this will not working I think Tomas could help here -

Here are two links that help hopefully:
Geolink recovery:

Spirit FBL recovery:

Hi Matthias,

yes, I tried it serveral times, however I had to decide the way how to do it when we were asked if the LED was on or off, but it was flashing. So we decided to continue with the way when the LED is on - with no success. We then tried several times all the different ways with no success. Whenever it is powered on, the LED immediately is flashing the same way, about two times a second.

Thanx for your suggestion anyway!

Regards,
Alexander

Hi Alexander,
if really nothing helps I would suggest to send the Spirit black and the Geolink to Spirit, that they test what's wrong - I think if Tomas can not help it's better to test the hardware if there is a problem - I think he has also more possibilities to test the system as we as an enduser -

Tomas can you please help here ? Thanks in advance !

Alexander I hope Tomas will give you an answer over the forum or per PM -
If there comes nothing from him send it in with the error behave - I think this is then the only possibility to go -

Regards
Matthias

Hi Matthias,

I fully agree!
In the past there was always help from Tomas, so for now I will just wait for his reply. Maybe there is a solution that I can achieve by myself with his special advise, before I should send it back.

Alexander

Hello,

if you can see 2 blinks in row, then pause, then again 2 blinks it mean there is hardware problem with pressure sensor.
This seems to be quite improbable since it worked with previous version.

Could you by chance take a video of the LED light please? This will help to identify the problem.
I am sure it can be sorted then.

Hi,

There is no flashing pause, only the first single flashing differs with a longer flash from the subsequent continuous flashing.
You can see it in the appended video.

Thanks a lot, this can be fixed with a special firmware.
Could you please provide me serial number of the GeoLink? Do you have a paper box of the geolink by chance (it is written there).

Were you able to flash firmware in the Recovery mode?

Please note it is super important to select GeoLink v1 firmware, not for v2. With which Spirit unit you are trying this?
