Early spirit gyro firmware update issues.
I inherited several (4) Helicopters from my late father all fitted with Spirit 1 gyros.
I am trying to set them up using download 3.6 (or any newer version) They have current firmware 1.2 loaded which does not work.
When connected with version 3.6 the sofware reports unstable connection so I can update the firmware. I have followed the instructions in recovery mode it just refuses do the firmware update. 2 of the helicopters where updated to version 3.5 earlier and the firmware patch worked (and fly) fine.
Is it possible to download version 1.2 of the sofware somewhere to see if this works a I really would like to get these helis working for sentimental reasons. Chris

Hello,

all Spirit units are compatible with the latest software and firmware. You only have to update your unit to this firmware using Update tab.
Update is allowed even if versions are not matching.
Simply start the software, then confirm the error and click at the Update tab.

I have 2 units with the same issues they report unstable connection and a PC connection and firmware upgrade is not possible. I can only assume that both have issues. Can these units be check out and repaired as they do carry sentimental value.

Maybe a gradual update to version 2.x and then to version 3.x could help.
ZeXx86 could give a link to older SW version 2.x here.
This procedure worked for several older units.

When it is updated to the current version 3.7.x, I recommend a thorough check of the settings, starting with the correct connection of the servos (mainly ch1 and ch3) ... unit positions and more.

Please try the same with older software.
I recommend to perform updating with 3.4.0.

I am 100% sure it will work sooner or later. Even upcoming Spirit V4 will work there.
