I am going to build my first CP (GAUI X3) this sept and I wanted a FBL unit with auto level and bail out. I chose this since it is newer and the community seems pretty active. I only have a DX6i (6 channel) so can I still use the bail out function or do i need a radio with more channels?
Thanks
[SOLVED] Hello! Can I use this FBl with a DX6i?
Hello,
thank you very much for your interest!
You can use this transmitter without any issue. It will work with all the features.
There are some limitations but you can overcome all of them.

Great! Can I ask how it is possible since I don't have any channels free? Also what limitations are you talking about? All I really need is the bailout mode, I won't use the self leveling featuresZeXx86 wrote:Hello,

Bailout mode (aka rescue) is activated by setting the gyro to negative.
- This can be done with any 6CH radio.
With Spirit you can have different configurations (aka banks) "at the same time" which you can select with your radio in flight.
- to use this feature you need a (free) channel on the radio.
- So (with 6CH) you loose the ability to set gyro sensitivity in the radio.
To overcome this "limitation" you can configure different gyro values in the FBL.
So IF you want "bank switching" you need to configure gyro values in the Spirit FBL instead in your radio.
Hope this helps.

So banks are different profiles, basically? That should be fine as long as I can activate bailout.linux-user wrote:Bailout mode (aka rescue) is activated by setting the gyro to negative.

Yes, that is exact.
You can switch these profiles in the flight directly including Bailout/Stabilisation at the same time.

Sorry to repeat myself, but I need to be sure. So with my DX6i, i can't switch profiles in flight but I can activate bailout?ZeXx86 wrote:Yes, that is exact.

Thanks for the assistance.
With DX6i it is possible to switch banks (profiles) and even use bailout and/or stabilisation modes at the same time.
