BINDING SATELLITES

Hi hopefully someone is able to help, please.
I have a GT with 2 DSMX satellite receivers (SPM9645)bound to a Spektrum DX9 which has worked flawlessly however I have upgraded my transmitter to a NX10+ and no matter what I do "BIND FAILED" is all I get!!
The bind plug is inserted into the ELE/PIT/AIL port and the GT is powered by a Kontronik Jive on 6S (Nimbus 550) Sats flash but unable to bind.
Please note I have already updated 5 other helicopters with various other Spirit FBL ( original red, black & Pro) with no problems at all but cannot get the GT and sats to bind. I have also changed the satellites to a brand new SPM9745 with the same result and the frame rate in the NX10 is set to 'automatic' . When the bind fails the satellites stop flashing and the lights go out but the GT is still powered with a blue light.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards
Ken

Hi,
the problem could be that NX10 is limited to 22ms frame rate. With this settings you have to bind Spirit unit in the same way.
This can be done by inserting 2 bind plugs - one at the SYS port and second at the ELE/PIT/AIL. Then it should be all OK.

Thank you, I will definitely give that a try.
I gather from your answer, it is also no advantage to change the default frame rate of 22ms to 'automatic' setting as it will still only bind at 22ms!

Hi, this problem is now back again ! The Nimbus on GT with version 4.0.2 will not bind to the NX10+ or the original DX9 using DSMX sat(which it flew on for over a year) . I have tried with bind plugs in both the SYS port and second at the ELE/PIT/AIL and nothing will bind now.
Please any help would be appreciated as my Nimbus is now grounded.
Thank You
PS I did notice that somebody else has also experienced a similar problem (Mimmo80)

Hi,
can you let me know what else changed on your setup from time it worked?
And why actually you need to rebind? Does it mean it completely stopped to communicate with satellites even that they are bound?
Rebinding is never needed normally, only if changing satellites between models.
Or does it mean you performed update and from then your satellites lost binding on its own? (This mean satellites LED is OFF all the time)
In the firmware there was zero change regarding Binding. And also we checked binding with all our satellites and it works flawlessly with the latest update.
Maybe you can list all changes that happened in your setup.

zexx86 Binding doesn't work for me either.
i bind satellite with firmware spirit 3.5.0 (and spektrum dx9 black edition firmware 2.08) with the bind in the spirit and the bind went ok
after it's been a long time and the satellites have always worked. (I can't say how much time has passed)
Today on the dx9 black edition it was deleted memory model on the radio by mistake. (so I had to set everything up again)
the spirit has been updated to the latest version 4.0.3
and you have to set the spirit again
today with spektrum dx9 black edition 2.08 the bind it doesn't work in spirit gt.
or uses bind plug in SYS
or uses bind plug in ELE/PIT/AIL
or use 2 bind plug one in SYS and one in ELE/PIT/AIL
in any way you try the bind with spirit gt (4.0.3) and spektrum dx9 black edition (2.08) the bind fails.
if you try to bind with the receiver normal (and connect the satellites to the receiver) the bind works well

Yes, you already written it to me on messenger.
It is needed to find what all changed on your setup. Here we also have same satellites used for years and binding is working normally.

Hi Tomas, I sincerely apologise for not posting sooner (medical issue) but thank you for responding.
I have change absolutely nothing from when it was flying on the DX9- I copied the file from the DX9 on a memory card to the NX10.
The the reason that I tried to rebind to the DX9 was, on its first flight on the NX10+ after approximately 20 seconds of literally just hovering directly in front I flew an arc to bring it to my left side and then hovered it side on and then it literally slammed down into the ground shattering the landing gear and cracking a side frame !! Thankfully it was only 1m off the ground. The lights on the 2 DSMX satellite receivers (SPM9645) were still on /solid and the servos were still responding. On the bench at home there was no clear indication in the log and I also did a bec test with no issues. Once it was repaired I thought I'd rebind it to the DX9 to try and see if the NX10+ was the issue (due of course to the initial binding problem I had), however now it won't bind at all to the DX9 and also fails to bind ( well Tx says "Bind Failed") to the NX10+ but I still do have servos responding to my NX10+ control inputs!! Unfortunately I have not been able to test it outside at this time but hopefully I will be able to this weekend, even just to do a range check.
Once again thank you for your help and apologies for the late reply.
