Spirit System

As Google Play only has version 3.7.0 of the Spirit Settings app (plus it also says this app is not available for my device which is a Samsung Galaxy SM-A566B running Android 16), I initially installed the app directly using the downloaded spirit-4.0.0r3-android.apk file from the Spirit System website. This version of the app has been working OK for the last couple of months.

Today, I noticed that the Android app download file had changed to spirit-4.0.3-android.apk so I downloaded this & installed (updated) the app using this file.

Now I have problems. The main menu page opens OK but after about 10 seconds, the app shuts down. Also in app info, it shows version 4.0.2 (I was expecting to see 4.0.3).

Has anybody else installed or updated the Spirit Settings app using the spirit-4.0.3-android.apk file? If so, does it work OK or do you have problems?

Can somebody from Spirit System support send me a link to download the previous spirit-4.0.0r3-android.apk file so I can at least have a working app until this issue is resolved?

the latest app was released yesterday. This version has very big changes required by new Google SDK.
We are now testing the app with multiple Android devices.

If you can let us know any details about when the problem appear, it can help a lot.

There's not much info I can tell you. The main menu page opens up OK (as per attached screenshot) like normal, but after about 10 seconds, it just shuts down & I get a pop-up box saying "Spirit Settings keeps stopping". My phone's Device Care function also reports that Spirit Settings is crashing frequently.

The app crashes with and without the Spirit-Link BT module connected to my Spirit 3 (power connected).

During the 10 second period it is running, it allowed me to connect via the BT module but then crashed.

Can you please tell me where I can get the previous apk file (spirit-4.0.0r3-android.apk) so I can install a working version of the app?

after tests on more Android 16 devices, we found the same problem. It happened right after updating device to the latest Android. We will find the problem tomorrow morning and resolve it quickly.

The problem was Google Analytics library that was not working well on recent Android.

I've found a couple of issues comparing the 4.0.0r3 & 4.0.3r3 apps. Maybe you've already found these as part of your testing.

Firstly, for the 4.0.3r3 app, the initial main menu page is moved upwards so that the Connection menu tab is over the phone's status icons. You cannot see the app version & other icons like on the 4.0.0r3 app. Screenshots are attached to show what I mean.

Secondly, in the Geo-link module information of the 4.0.3r3 app, the inclination angles appear on the left & are masked by the headers. Screenshots also attached (as there is a maximum of 3 attachments, I will add the 4th in a new message).

I tried the new Android 4.0.3r3 and could not find the 3D master mode. Are we still waiting for the implementation of it?

3D Master mode will be implemented soon. For now it is available for PC software and Wave radios.
