Still having problems with Android Spirit Settings app 4.0.3r3

I'm still having problems with the latest official version of the app installed from the Google Play store. Some of the sub-menus & parameters are greyed out so they can't be accessed or modified e.g.

In the General menu, all of the settings are greyed out including the Channels sub-menu tab.
In the Servos menu, all settings are greyed out.
In the Limits menu, the Cyclic Ring and Rudder End Points settings are greyed out.

This problem does not occur in the 4.0.0r3 version of the app & I have full access to all menus & parameters as soon as the connection is made via the Spirit-Link BT module.

When I raised this on the Spirit System Support FB group, I was told that this occurs because you have to be in bank 0 to access those parameters as they are global.

I don't use the Bank function. It is unassigned & in the Windows application, it shows active bank 0, although strangely in both versions of the Android app "Diagnostics - Input Channels", it says Bank 2.

Screenshots attached.

Hello,

in this case it could be Basic mode that will not allow you to change base parameters. This is safety function that can be enabled/disabled from menu.

Many thanks for the quick response.

Yes, that was it. Having found "Basic Mode" in the settings menu (the 3 vertical dots on the General page), I turned it off & now everything is accessible as it was in the 4.0.0r3 app.

Is this a new feature in 4.0.3 or was it turned off as default in the 4.0.0r3 app?

You are welcome. It is turned off by default. This feature is present for many years already.

Since turning off "Basic mode", when I open the sub-menu window by clicking on the 3 vertical dots in the top RH corner of the General page & click on the "settings" option, the app crashes & shuts down.

Are you aware of this problem & if not, can you check it out?

Thank you for letting us know. We will verify this functionality with more devices and let you know.

I have been doing more tests with the app.

When I open the app & click on the 3 vertical dots, it gives 4 options:

Credits
Banks
Save profile to unit
Settings

If I select settings, the app crashes.

From the app main page, if I select Connection & then click on the 3 vertical dots, it opens a different set of options:

Credits
Banks
Save profile to unit
Basic mode
Profile
Factory settings

If I then connect to the Spirit 3 via the Spirit-link BT module, when I select any of the other sections (Favorites, General, Diagnostic, Servos, etc) & click on the 3 vertical dots, I get the following options:

Credits
Banks
Save profile to unit

There is no "settings" option.

What I found was that when I was returning to the previous page using the "return" symbol < at the bottom of my screen, if I went too far & exited the app so I reached my screen with all the app icons, if I selected the Spirit Settings app, it opened & under connection, it was showing still connected. I then selected various sections & clicked on the 3 vertical dots & it started giving me the initial 4 option selection which includes the "settings" option which when selected, crashes the app.

I'm not sure if this would be classed as "user error" but I thought it might be useful to share my findings in case it may help with your fault reproduction.
