Subject: Issue with Coming Home function after updating to FW 4.03/4.04

Hi everyone,

I’m writing to express my frustration regarding the latest firmware updates (FW 4.03 and 4.04). Ever since I installed them, the "Coming Home" function has completely stopped working.

I find it frankly unacceptable that after all these years of development, we are still seeing such critical bugs being introduced in new firmware releases. It seems like each update breaks something that was working perfectly fine before.

What’s even worse is the lack of support. I’ve posted about this issue and sent private messages to the administrator, but I have been completely ignored. No response, no acknowledgement of the problem, nothing.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have a fix or a way to roll back the firmware? I’d appreciate any help from the community, since the official support seems to be non-existent at the moment.

All you need to do to go back is open the Spirit settings, go to update and click on firmware updates and you can go back to v 4.0...all working fine for me, must be some problem with your setup...

It is possible to downgrade unther FW4.0 ? No it's not a problem with the Setup that's for sure, I'm here from the begining with Spirit , but you can have the best Setupkils but if it's a problem with the FW you cannot do nothing. And as I wrote before works, also there is no reason why with only update the FW a function stop to work !!Thanks

I have also had Spirit units from the very beginning, the support from Spirit is absolutely huge!
The Geolink functions work well with all versions 4.x.x on mine heli´s.
Could there be a problem with the unit, Geo or transmitter settings? Can you send us your settings?

I'm not part of the support team; I'm just a regular user. I have five helicopters equipped with Spirit and GeoLink. The update worked on all of them, and the GeoLink is working perfectly and running smoothly. So I can confirm that there is no issue with the GeoLink running the latest firmware. I hope this information helps you.
I also tested the Return Home feature.

I bought more than 10 Spirit with GeoLink, Spirit Transmitter and than I get this support . Again it is not normal that after an update from 3.7 to 4.03 ,
a function stops to works, and as I wrote the funny is on the Spirit software when I switch the funtion on Diagnostic you can see it's works, but on the Fly he doesn't .

please share your settings file. We can check it, this could be the only problem. There are several modes for Return to Home and big differences between these versions.
For example you can be in a programming mode or there are multiple functions active.

Hi Tomas I'm very busy in this moment due a lot of work, can you please answer my private message and I will send you from the 2 Spirit units the serial number to downgrade to 3.7. Thank you.

Hi Tomas, yes I know all the functions of the GeoLink , but it makes absolutly no sense without touching nothing that the coming home function stops to work, and as I wrote before on the Spirit software it works when I check it in the Diagnostic and on the Channel window, but on the Fly when I activate it, the Heli makes a bad PositionHold going backwards !?
Therefore I think I downgrade to 3.70 and in the future when I have more time, upgrade later.

I tried to explain to you that when updating from years old version 3.7 you need to reconfigure many things, because during these updates many things changed, including some GeoLink functions. You should read news between all updates between these versions to avoid any unexpected behavior. Some base settings in v4 are completely different.

So it actually make good sense. Especially if you are using more banks, this problem could happen. For this reason I am asking for your settings, because then we can see what could be problem quickly.
