Spirit Non-Geo Altitude Hold Aggressive Climb

Hello,

I recently installed a spirit 3 onto my t-Rex 450 and absolutely love it! I was excited to see when the new firmware came out that the spirit altitude hold was added. I have stabi set to “by channel” and I only have a 6 Chanel radio so I set the altitude hold to the gyro gain switch channel. I have played with the gyro gain for allowing pitch adjustment or not, but either way, when I enable altitude hold, the helicopter goes into an aggressive climb. I do not know for sure, but it seems like the RPM stays the same and only the pitch is greatly increased. Has anyone else seen this issue or is there something that I am doing wrong?

Thank you!

Forget nearly all the GeoLink function's nothing works, I setup the Altitud Hold, and the V Net all directly in the Spirit unit , this altitud sensor works ,instead from the Geolink .

Hi, Dr. Fleming, I do not have GeoLink and have checked that it is disabled. How are you setting up the altitude sensor in the unit? I have the function set to enable from a switch on my controller. I only have a 6 channel controller so I am having to use my gyro channel. I’ve tried setting stabi function to “by channel”, like the firmware update release notes said to do and then assigned f: spirit altitude hold to channel 5 of my radio. Any time I enable it, my helicopter just starts to climb like crazy.

Hi, if you work with the Gyro channel set it up with the subtrim, and when you see on the diag that is engage the function than you have it. By the way switch all the Gyro functions off like Heading Hold ect.
