using the cloud storage

I am wondering what exactly is meant with "cloud storage" in relation to the Wave. Wave Pro shall have 30GB while the standard Wave has 1GB.
Is there really a cloud Service, in a way that model files, images or log files are automatically stored somewhere online?
Or, is "cloud" in this manner only means the data remote access via PC/smartphone?
I would be highly interested in a real cloud solution, for backup reason. But, as often, frustrated by lack of information and/or manual
