Spirit 2/3 with Futaba BPS-1 Sensor

Has anyone already been using a Spirit 2 or 3 with a Futaba BPS-1 RPM sensor?
The sensor detects the movement of the crankshaft; the motor's maximum RPM is 20,000.
Can a Spirit unit even process such RPM values?
