Just got my first Spirit after seeing a demo of the recovery. Very impressive. I have wired mine up with a REX 7 RX in Exbus mode to the Spirit with the Thr channel active. (Same as the Vbar mini it replaced, UDI) The failsafe does not work. I thought initially it was a problem with the Rx settings but it still fails to stop the motor when I pull the Rx. It's like the Spirit is remembering the signal and passing it on to the ESC. Next step is to pull the Thr plug on the Spirit to totally isolate the ESC. I want to avoid wiring the ESC to Ch1 of the Rx if possible. As said it worked flawlessly with Vbar. Any ideas? Thanks

You have to set Failsafe for the throttle channel to some particular value. It should not be Hold mode.
Receiver is sending the data that are passed to the ports of the receiver too, so it should work same as CH1 output.

Yup, Failsafe set as before. FS in Thr channel and Hold in the rest. But thats immaterial as when I unplug the Rx from the Spirit there is nothing to keep the ESC going. But it does??!! Going to try the unplug Spirit test now to rule out the ESC. Thanks for quick response. Just flown it and it's great :)

Edit. Ok, just to check the ESC I unplugged it from the Spirit while running and it shutdown as expected and designed. It's as if the Spirit is keeping a store of the Thr position when the RX is unplugged. Governor is disabled.

If you disconnect receiver from the unit then it is very different then if the signal is lost.
Failsafe is embedded in the Jeti receiver so the unit is doing what the receiver is sending.

Hi Tomas, just to recap. With failsafe set to 'Failsafe', 0% throttle in the Rx and all connected the motor does NOT stop when I turn off the Tx. Nor does it stop when I physically remove the Rx from the system. Both of these events should (must) stop the motor. The Spektrum boys seem to have been taken care of but not the rest? I have wired up directly to the Rx Ch 1 now and all is good.

Hi Tomas, a few of us using Exbus with Jeti Rxs are reporting this FS problem. Any idea if/when a solution may be coming?
Thanks

Any update with this? I don't really want to have to 'Hotwire' a fix, as others have done.

Hi,

can you tell me, what receiver do you use?
If it does not work with REX 7 receiver then we have to contact JETI to fix the issue.

UDI and EX Bus can't be compared. Spirit also supports UDI, but failsafe is different for each receiver type. It is implemented/configured in the receiver.

Hi ZeXx86,

Currently i have the Rsat2 hooked up with this FS issue. I have an REX6 also but have not tried it as yet.

I am using a REX 7. The Spirit is 'holding onto' the last signal as the Rx is unplugged.
