Hi

Ive build and setup a New Align 550 with the Spirit system.

Got 2 Banks going.....Bank 0.....Stabi
Bank 2.....Rescue

Im very new to FBLess and hellis in general, but can fly mild scale with my SDX 55.

Trying to testfly the 550 today was really scary....as the tail was very fast and all over the place.....just sitting on the ground....so no take-off.

I did carefully check movements and directions and piro opt and and and....for 3 days nonstop.....but didnt felt happy with the tail.

I know fbless is different on takeoff.....but my Blade 450 X was a breeze on take off ?

Is there help .....advice etc that you can point me in the right direction......will the setup file help.....everything is basically the standatd setup..?

The tail moved A LOT .....with very little input of the rudder......my endpoints is setup in the software for max before binding.

Maybe trying to take off in Bank 1 with Stabi is wrong ?

Thanking you.

Hi,

can you attach your settings here, please (for each bank)?

What Gyro Gain you have configured in the Sensor Tab for each bank?

Could you tell me what do you mean with "as the tail was very fast and all over the place"?
Was it rotating on its own to some side or it was just too agressive to the input?

Hi

Here is the files.

I was trying to take-off in stabilization mode....is there do's and dont's ?

The tail was all over while spooling up.......and when I gave counter inputs they were radical.....so I just got worried that the helli

would overturn or be uncontrollable after take-off ?

Gyro gain is set in software (ch 5 unassigned to have 3 banks) at 60% (bk 0) -60% (bk 1) and -60% (bk 2) ?

Please advise if you see something wrong or maybe help me downtune the settings.

The Helli is a brandnew stock Align 550 L Dominator.

Thanx

Hi,

Thank you for the files.
Settings seems to be OK but it seems as the Cyclic Ring value is quite low. Is it configured for mechanical limit?

I am not sure if the helicopter was in the air but make sure that Sensor compensation direction is correct for all axes.
If not then immediately after spoolup helicopter will tip over or can start doing pirouettes.
So the Sensor tab settings are the most important.

Tail slider should go to the opposite direction of the movement if you are moving with the boom by hand.

Hi

Thanks.

I used the same settings, but did not use the Stabi at all for the maiden today.

Take-off was uneventful and the helli hovered nice and stable.

Will do a couple of normal scale fights before I'm going to use the stabilization.

Thanking you for the advice.

Unit working nicely so far.

buell47 I would be interested in your configuration for the 550L to compare with mine. In general mine it flying good but it does seem to have a slight sticking / hesitation when I give it left rudder before I the heli responds (not un-flyable by any means but very annoying). I've gone through the mechanicals and the movement is completely smooth no binding of any kind. Also doubled checked the tail servo no issues there either also smooth I'm at a loss as to what's happening.

Make sure that axial bearings are in the correct orientation as it can cause that it will move very tightly in higher RPM.
