In case you do not know something or you are not sure, here is the right place for your question.

Tomas, I was wondering if you could explain step by step how to set up rescue normal with a new DX7 using a dsmx sat. I wanted to use switch "A" which is a 2 position switch for the rescue. (I don't want to get into moving switches around for the momentary button)
I'm using my castle governor.
I tried using the spectrum DX8 guide that you posted but the new DX7 software is completely different.
Thanks
Art.

The easiest way is to use Gyro Gain channel switch to activate the rescue.
If you are able to configure this switch to "A", then the only thing you have to do is to set Gyro Gain that will be "negative" when switch "A" is activated.
In new DX7 it should be enough to set Normal gyro mode.

Any idea what values I should start out with? What would positive gain be and what should negative gain be?

Also to make sure my banks are right can you take a look at these pictures.

The third is my transmitter setting with gyro gains.
The second is position 0 on transmitter but it says bank 2 on screen.
The first is position 1 on transmitter but it says bank 0 and throttle drops from 35 to 14%.

With those settings when I activated rescue the swash would go down in the opposite direction it should. I switched the gyro settings on transmitter so that pos 0 is -100 and pos 1 is 100. Now the swash seems to move in the right direction. Is this correct now that I changed it?

The direction of the collective pitch when rescue is activated, is determined by the "Rescue collective pitch" setting on the Stabi tab. If the swash is moving in the wrong direction, then you change the "Rescue collective pitch" to the opposite side of the slider, for example from +70% to -70%.

Until you get rescue figured out I would use only Bank 0. Unassign the Bank channel if you must. Set Gyro on the Diagnostics tab to 60% for normal flight and setup your transmitter so that when you hit your rescue switch, the Gyro value on the Diagnostics tab shows -60%, or negative of the normal flight value. It is this negative Gyro value that activates rescue as setup on the Stabi tab.

Thanks I will check all of that first.

If I understand right your Banks are switched by Gyro Gain in the transmitter so the Gyro Gain function in the General/Channels is unassigned.

In this case to activate the rescue you have to set negative gyro gain in the Sensor Tab. For example to -60. Then when bank is switched you will see HF in the diagnostic tab instead of HL.

That is all correct so far.

A couple more questions.

1. When my stick is just above mid stick on transmitter and when I activate rescue the swash plate goes down? Is that normal? When it is mid stick and below the swash goes up.

2. On the diagnostic tab the pitch slider is backwards from what it does on the heli. When I pitch up the slider bar goes down to negative and when I pitch down the slider bar goes up. However the pitch is correct on the heli in the right direction.

3. On the diagnostic tab when rescue is activated the throttle tab goes from 35% down to 14%. Is this normal?

4. I haven't touched anything on transmitter as far as throttle cut/ throttle hold etc. should I be changing something?

Thanks.

On the Stabi tab there is a slider called Rescue collective pitch: XX% - Raise or lower that percentage until the collective rescue is enough for the heli to rise when you flip the rescue switch.

As far as I'm aware the direction of correction on the diagnostic tab does not matter

Do you have the throttle somehow tied in to the same switch as rescue (as in flight mode), if so perhaps you can look at your throttle curve to see how that is changing with the rescue switch.

This is wrong - when rescue is really activated, it does not matter at all where the sticks are.
You have to see HF in the diagnostic tab if the rescue is really activated. Any channel should not change its value except Gyro Gain when the rescue is active.
