Spirit System

Hi

I have updated the software and firmware to version 1.3. All the sticks and gyro function perfectly. Initialisation is also normal - I can hear the beeps from the motor.

However, the heli cannot be spooled up. Looking at the diagnostic tab, the throttle bar moves and does not seem to be not working properly.

I have updated the software and firmware again but the throttle still does not work.

My heli had been flying perfectly just before the upgrade.

My ESC is Talon 35 and motor is Lynxheli LX8005 - EOX Motor 2214-4100KV - V2.

Attached is my Spirit setup, Talon setup and Spirit log file.

Could you please help me to take a look at what is wring?

Just that you know, you can use this tool

which has been developed by the same guy who did the Spirit Android App, to nicely print a Spirit settings file so to make it readable.

From the log it could look like your Spirit does not clearly know that Governor is off.

Try to set Governor on for a second then off again and save (motor could start during this operation, take care!)

Also, the whole mess in the log after 05:20 is kinda suspicious )))))

I have checked your settings and it seems that your Governor is not enabled.
From the new version you can enable/disable it between banks so make sure that it is ON in each bank.

Also there are other parameters that should be reconfigured in governor to achieve the best performance.

I am controlling the headspeed using the governor in Talon.

I will try out the above and report back.

Ah, in this case your settings are correct, except you have to reconfigure your Min and Max parameters.

Your parameters are changed to -50 and 50 so it changes travel range for your ESC. Previous firmware was not able to change the travel, so it is reason why it worked.

You can try -100 and 150 values.

Bingo.

The min/max values of -100 and 150 did the trick. Bench test is fine.

Can resume flying next weekend:)
