Recently setup my goblin 380 w the spirit gov. Dual sats, hw 100a v3, gear ratio 5.20 (23t), xnova 890. Everytging works as it should except for the rpm sensor too noisy flag that my log is filled with. I tried increasing the rpm filter in the expert tab to 8 but no difference. Is there a way to get the signal cleaned up?

Hello,

what is your receiver?
Some receivers are transmitting data in the opposite direciton (telemetry) and can cause major interference issues even with some servos.
Putting antennas in a different direction and as far as possible from the sensor can help a lot..
Changing sensor position so it is

But there could be more reasons for too high noise such as noise that is coming from BEC. Using a ferrite ring can reduce it as well.

My rx is two dsmx sats at the same locations the manual suggests. One on the boom and the other on the left side of the frame. Both are at 90 degrees to each other.

Picture shows sat placement but is a lil dated. Everything is still routed the same but the rpm sensor from the hw esc is now plugged in to the correct port.

I also setup my g500 w spirit (pro) gov and with the tests on the bench I wasn't getting any signal too noisy flags. This was using another hw 100a v3, but w a ar7700 w sat instead of dual sats.

Would a ferrite ring like the one in the website work?

Hi,

that is interesting. The ferrite ring may work fine, but you can pick a ferrite rings from for example old PC power supply or in any electrical store - probably much cheaper solution.
You can then wound the wire around the ring (5 turns could be good).

I tried the ferrite ring on my 380 and it didnt help, at least I dont think it did. I was troubleshooting the issue and found out that I can replicate a clean log without any noisy rpm flags in the logs to having them the entire flight. I added the ring and tried it without putting the heli all back together and I had cleans logs. Put it back together and the noise is back. The I figured that if I took off the tail belt there isnt any noise in the logs. As soon as I put the belt on, I have issues. Thing is that on my g500 I have the filter down to 1 and have no flags in the logs. Ideas?

Static electricity causing interference...

Youll need to ground the boom to the frame and the tail box. I had to do this on my g500 sport as continuity was spotty. Also tighten up the belt a bit and could try adding some silicone oil to it to further reduce static.

Also try keeping the signal cable as far away as possible from the boom

Whats a good way to do this? I already have the belt on the 380 as tight as I can get it. Its also got the belt tensioner on it so there isnt any slack in it.

I used a multi meter. One prong on the tail pulley and the other on the motor mount. Then you just measure resistance. Should be low-ish.

Well i got a multimeter and I have continuity from the tail to the motor mount. I think it was around 260 to 280 ohms. I checked every screw and bolt from the tail forward as well as the boom itself. It showed continuity at every spot. I also lubed the tail belt w crc silicone spray lube and it didnt make much of a difference. I can get a good health message every now and then but as soon as I start to move the collective stick is when the flags start coming in. I even sanded down the spot where the boom where the main plate and boomnmeet as well as the areas where the two side plates on the tail side connect to the boom. So ive done all that I can think of and more. Check after check doesnt change a thing. Guess ill just go back to the hw gov on my 380 and play w the spirit gov on my G500 sport.

Tomas, any ideas?
