Here is a crude graphic. The Spirit Spectrum Analyzer reports rotational frequencies about each axis shown in the graphic. For example, the "Z-Rudder" sensor axis graph displays the heli vibrations around the Z axis, not the heli vibrations up and down the Z axis. Hope this helps.
Okay, I don't want to stir anything up, but here's the root cause of the issue for me: The Spirit manual uses phrases like "measure vibrations in three separate axes", "frequencies for the currently selected axis", "vibration on the selected axis", etc. It is not clear what "in", "for the" and "on the" mean when referring to movement, i.e., these phrases could be interpreted to be either translational or rotational movements.

Don't underestimate the fact that the manual is written by non-native speakers so has not to be taken too much literally ))))
Thanks, very true, and I should have mentioned that myself. It was, in fact, why I said I didn't want to stir anything up. Intent was not to be critical, but rather helpful to others that might also be confused about this.
