Hi,

I am new to Spirit FBL and looking for the configuration of RPM with Jive and Futaba T14SG Telemetry. I did not find anything how to set the correct gear and poles for RPM output. Can anybody help with this simple question? :-)

Regards,
Nils

As nobody answers...is this functionality missing? :-) Or is the question too easy.

Hello,

it is available at two places directly at the Telemetry Settings window and at the Throttle/Governor window in the Spirit Settings software.

So it is enough to just open Advanced tab/Telemetry and there you can set both parameters.

Hi.

Actually I cannot use the setup software (see another post). Is it available in WLAN HTML as well? I set it there in the governor config (enabled it and disabled it then) but the RPM shown in telemetry is still not the correct one. More than a half below the expected values.

Cheers
Nils

PS. Installed the setup software on an old Windows XP PC and it seems that the unit stored the setting but RPM is still shown as round about 700.

Could anybody using this setup help with this? Does Jive (old) and Futaba Telemetry work fine for most people?

Hello,

your configuration seems to be correct.
But instead of calculating gear ratio from software you can check it directly at the model.

What is your model? You can simply divide main gear tooths / motor pinion tooths.
Which motor do you have?

Yes, you can set Gear Ratio in the Wifi-Link web interface too. With the latest firmware and software you do not have to enable Governor to set these values.
Instead it is available directly in the Advanced/Telemetry settings.

Hi.

It is a Soxos 600 and a Pyro 30-14 with 10 pols. Soxos has a multiple stage gear so it has to be a step more. That’s because I am using the calculator for Soxos models also for another Soxos with leads to the correct ratio.

Hi,

To identify if the problem is related to the telemetry is the RPM of Jive ESC also shown in the Wlan interface in Governor settings or is this only for the external sensor? Then I will compare it next week when I am home.

Hi,

when you use External sensor than the Telemetry will display value from this sensor. So data from Jive ESC will be not used.
Same value will be displayed also in Wifi-Link interface and also Spirit Settings app.

The problem is that Jive could change some part in telemetry protocol and we can't find it, because their protocol is not open.

Is the RPM matching if you will set Gear Ratio to 2x less?

Hi,

I checked this now and it does not reach the real rpm, it is quite too low.

Also I cannot find the gear settings in the Wlan HTML Interface. I attached two screenshots, as I understood it should be visible there...

Cheers,
Nils
