Hello Tomas,
i had no trouble with Spirit updating on macOS in the past, but it does not work with this release (recent updates on macOS could be very well the culprit too). last time i've tested updating was with 3.2 release... at this time i've done initial update using Windows (under Parallels) as proposed and then tested under macOS and it worked like a charm.
yesterday evening i've tried with 3.2.1 and it did not work under macOS itself, but no problems with recovery under Windows/Parallels. again not possible after recovery using fresh restarted macOS. i've reinstalled (to be sure, you never know what is being installed with the recent macOS updates) the driver as per manual: no success, then the newest drivers directly from SiLabs: no success too.
using Spirit setup tool itself is no problem, but firmware upload does not work. Spirit settings is trying for some seconds to start the upload, then giving an error message asking for restart of settings & unit, but then really is jammed in the system and cannot be restarted unless complete restart of macOS. even then there is never a problem using Windows under Parallels. the unit i've tested with was the last one i received early november (it was already on 3.2 when shipped)
problems updating Spirit on macOS 10.15.7 [SOLVED]
There could be big difference when updating from 3 1 and older. This could cause troubles with a bad USB driver.
When updating from 3.2.0 new flashing process should take effect.
Please use the latest Spirit Settings 3.2.1 for flashing.

yes, of course Settings 3.2.1 is in use (and all units are on 3.2/3.2.1 before)... on both macOS and Win. i've just done again and documented with screenshots for you.
best regards

You can try to download the latest USB drivers for Mac.
https://www.silabs.com/documents/public ... Driver.zip
Then after reboot retry.
So the software is waiting after clicking the Flash button? And then after few seconds you can see error, is this correct?

i've already tried the newest drivers from SiLabs too (see first post)... always the same: fresh boot, install driver, reboot, test, fail
yes, exactly: after clicking Flash button the rainbow cursor appears quickly and then it takes some 10-15 seconds until the error message is shown.
nb: just tried with macOS admin user too... just to be sure there is not access rights problem. same result: fail.

Thank you. Are you able to start the Spirit Settings in terminal on Mac?
You have to enter the .app directory and then start the "settings" with ./settings
This should give us error and reason why it is failing. Is this happening with all units?
Here we have Mac with 10.13 and 11.0 and both are flashing well.
