If possible, I recommend to check Flight Log from Spirit after landing.
I would look for any GeoLink corrupted frames or errors in connection.

If all this seems OK, the only thing that remind is I can send you special firmware where you can adjust gains in a different way to avoid overshooting.
So during next week we can do this if you will not find a solution.

I'm using a spirit 2. Do I need to keep the battery connected to recover the log after a flight, or is it ok to disconnect battery and travel home, then reconnect battery to get the log?

A major log like "Geolink connection lost" will be saved even when the Spirit is powered off. You can tell if there is a major log saved as the swashplate will do a different dance on the next power on.

The swash movement at start-up is so subtle, I've never really noticed any difference.

Anyway, attached is my flight log. I borrowed someone's laptop so I could get the log off the spirit 2 at the field.

I spooled up at about 00:30. I gained height then activated pos + alt hold. I let it sit there for about 5 mins whilst using the cyclic to move the heli in the XY plane.

I then disabled pos + alt hold at about 05:30 mins, and did some pitch pumps to test out some other settings I'm playing with.

I landed at about 07:00 mins. I left the heli powered up and downloaded the logs at about 10mins.

Hello,

thank you for all the details.

We have prepared special firmware for you, where vertical correction gain is internally lowered by 10x.
So if you will set 100, it will work as 10 with the firmware.
You should see it in the firmware list. If not, please let me know.
No other changes are needed after update.

If lowering gain will still not work ideally, we will make a further changes until it will work perfectly.
