I am a bit confused making the proper connection between the Spirit GTR unit and a latest YGE "T" series ESC. According to the Spirit YGE Telemetry webpage https://manual.spirit-system.com/index. ... _Telemetry, I need to connect the YGE blue telemetry servo connector to the Spirit GTR SAT1 port using a modified JST-Servo adapter with the red wire removed. However, this YGE video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG0pas6 ... ex=2&t=30s demonstrates a 2nd type of connection using a Spirit RS unit where they connect the YGE telemetry blue servo connector to the E1 port of the Spirit RS and there is no connection to the SAT1 port .

Since I have the Spirit GTR and not the older Spirit RS unit, I wonder if the connection of the YGE telemetry blue servo connector to the E1 port is even an option.

I welcome any comments and suggestions on this. Thank you.

of course this is an option - i am i.e. using all of mine like this (YGEs with GTR and RS). what you get is more telemetry items from YGE (it's stock YGE EX Bus telemetry protocol directly connected to Jeti EX Bus, see pic) and the big advantage for me is: using the Jetibox emulation on Jeti TX you can program the YGE Esc directly... not 100% of all items but the most important ones to be changed on the field for sure.

Thank you for the response. I would have thought that Spirit would have included this 2nd option in the instructions manual. I just happened to see the video with the alternative connection method in the YGE website.

I guess the downside of connecting the YGE telemetry wire to the Spirit GTR E1 port is that one of the ports will need to be shared using a Y-connector since I am already using all the ports.

Anything special that I would need to do to "activate" the Spirit E1 port? It was not clear from the video.

... exactly as you wrote: this is (for me) the only downside.

to get it running: you just have to configure the telemetry protocol to Jeti EX Bus in the YGE and correctly config motor poles / gearing. on Spirit side, the E1 should be on EX Bus by default - else to be set. and of course: deactivate Esc telemetry in Spirit settings... :) just give it a try!

Thank you for the response. The video is in German, so I am not entirely sure how to "deactivate Esc telemetry in Spirit settings".

Correct. The video uses an older Spirit RS unit. I was not sure if the video also applied to the newer Spirit GTR units, especially since the Spirit GTR manual makes no mention of this.

Yes, it's the same see manual .. it's the same for both RS and GTR.
