Hello. We are (un)fortunately very busy due to high demand so everything is going slowly.
There is extremely small chance your unit is faulty. The RPM output of the controller could be simply incompatible with a standard sensors.
I will answer all the questions soon once we will finish the setup.

Okay...
So this means you started to setup a M2 wit uSpirit already, now I’m a bit confused why setting up takes so much :)
Anyway, never mind me. Get back with some news soon. Even for a hobbyist like me, setting up a helicopter is a matter of hours...

It is very simple, building helicopters has much smaller priority than shipping goods to our customers.
Since we have many, many orders we have to produce goods and ship them first.

I believe you and other pilots would like to receive goods that you paid for first instead of having settings for helicopter that is used be few people.

Hey man, thanks for your reply.
I would just want to clarify what are my expectations (you don’t need to do any complicated helicopter build)
- verify that P/E/A port is able to read properly the rpm sent by any ESC and specially by omphobby esc.

You can also relate with a previous post that this readings are fine with uBrain so this narrows the research quite a lot.

Is this complicated and takes a lot of time?

Hi @ZeXx86

after some more testing, besides the RPM readings issue, there is another problem in this setup.
Flip and roll rates are very slow even when I go with rotation speed for cyclic at 16. It barely flips and rolls. It almost the same speed as I show in the previous video I posted. This is WAY to low.

Now, I would like to ask you if you have a time frame that you can address and fix these issues: a week, a month, a year?
That would help me decide if I continue with this unit or I simply go to something that works out of the box.

Hello,

yes, we were testing M2 some days ago and it is working just very well.

There is nothing special you have to do, except Head Geometry is really very unusual. So to compensate this we obtained the best results with Head Geometry 6° around 90.
Other possibility is to use Travel Adjust to correct it. Then you can leave a proper Geometry value, but easier is to lower the value.

RPM output including Governor is working flawlessly.

Settings in the attachment.

I am using Omphobby M2 v1 2019 model and for some reason I don`t get the rpm output readings from the ESC.

Thomas, I think you have the explore version right? which has a newer ESC version...maybe this is the problem on my side.

Is there anyone who got the RPM readings from the M2 V1 model?

Hello everybody,

I decided to get back on this project. I replaced original omphobby M2 V1 ESC with V4 ESC so that I get the RPM readings.

I am also using the file provided by Thomas above.
I changed various tail parameters in order to improve the tail performance.

Now I am trying to tune the tail to work properly but I have the following Issues:

- when spooling up tail slides couple e before the motor starts spinning.
- kicks on sharp stops and collective pumps.
- pirouette is not consistent.
- left/right rudder overshoots
Here are my settings:

just want to add that - pirouettes with motor tail are really a problem - there is no stabilization / consistency at all.
But hopefully there will be soon a recommendation of tail motor parameters - with provided M2 file I'm also not happy...but run out of ideas which parameter to change.
Tomas, can you please check and do some pirouettes with one of your motor tail helis. Must not be M2, can be Logo 200, Blade 150 /230S as well ;-)

Courious if the problem is really on our end ?
