Spirit System

This is basicly a feature request. I recently bought a Spirit Pro and a GeoLink from your company and I am still in the installation phase on my Align T-Rex 550X. I use it with a Graupner GR-24 and SUMD HD 12 and so far I am impressed about the quality of the hardware and the functions the firmware provides.

Now, the Windows Desktop Software allows to use only 10 channels, where 7 of them are dedicated to Spirit Pro functionality. Even when you disable Gyro gain and set it up in the Banks, the Gyro gain channel will not be available for Geolink functions.

This currently leaves 3 channels for GeoLink functionality, which is not enough in my point of view.

GeoLink provides flight related functionality:

Position Hold
Altitude Hold
Altitude Limit
Return to Home
Geo-Fence

To be able to activate / disable these functions independently from any Banks, in total at least 12 channels would be needed where 5 of them must be able to be configured for GeoLink. The current Software implementation is not supporting this and so there are some restrictions as of now to fully use concurrently all the features of GeoLink.

Are there any plans to develop the Desktop Software for full GeoLink support ? Please let me know.

yes, this is in plan.

Although normally when pilot is flying he is usually using 1-2 features or can combine them. This is because pilot is unable to train muscle memory or sometimes even normal memory which switch is which if needed in hurry.
So more channels are good when just playing but in real life it could be hard to imagine pilot searching 1 of 5 or more switches and trying which is which when model is close to impact. This could make it then way too complicated because people will forget about engaged features during flight and many will be surprised. So our main goal is to keep it simple as possible since more does not always mean better.

But yes, there will be more channels available soon.

This is how I set up my transmitter. Functions in RED will be available when more than 3 channels can be configured. I use 12 channels in total here.
